DRESSAGE WITH PHILIPP

Philipp's journey commenced in the quaint town of Obernkirchen, nestled not far from the bustling city of Hannover. Growing up in the serene countryside, the presence of horses became an indelible part of his world, captivating his imagination from an early age.

As a youth and throughout his teenage years, Philipp engaged in casual equestrian pursuits. However, a profound desire to delve deeper into the art of horsemanship and gain a comprehensive understanding of equine education led him to embark on a remarkable journey. Philipp made the pivotal decision to join the esteemed mounted police unit in Hannover.

In this distinguished institution, echoes of a bygone era from the annals of the Kavallerrieschule Hannover still resonated. It was a time when dressage masters adorned the ranks of police and military mounted units. It was within the hallowed confines of this unit that Philipp honed his equestrian skills and acquired a profound comprehension of equine behavior.

During his tenure in the mounted police unit, Philipp's responsibilities extended beyond personal growth. He took on the mantle of educating fellow staff members and training police horses to the highest standards.

Parallel to his professional obligations, Philipp embarked on a private journey of teaching dressage across various levels. His passion for equestrian education found a parallel purpose alongside his dedicated service to the mounted unit.

In 2013, a transformative opportunity presented itself when the Hong Kong Jockey Club extended a job offer. Philipp made the momentous decision to author a new chapter in his life, transitioning fully into the realm of private horse care and training.

In Hong Kong, he left an indelible mark by orchestrating trainer courses that elevated the skills and expertise of the club's staff to new heights. Further milestones in his global odyssey included stints in Vienna, where he worked at the stable of the esteemed former chief rider, Johan Riegler, and an illustrious role as a barn manager in Australia.

Throughout his illustrious career, Philipp's journey was profoundly influenced by the enduring mentorship of Klaus Balkenhol and his family, who became cherished friends. Klaus, an Olympic medalist in dressage, became a luminary figure in Philipp's life, admired not only for his equestrian prowess but also for his ethical approach to horsemanship and exceptional training and coaching abilities. Their connection remains steadfast, with Klaus continuing to offer invaluable insights and unwavering support.

Since 2015, Philipp has been at the helm of an independent training and teaching enterprise located near Hameln, Germany. Here, he continues to shape the futures of both horses and riders, sharing his profound wisdom and passion for the equestrian arts with those fortunate enough to cross his path.
